Our Group

zenb

We are a small group of lay practitioners coming together to practice authentic Zen and mindfulness meditation. Welcoming diversity, the practice of Zen is available here to people of any or no religious affiliation, race, nationality, class, gender, sexual orientation, age, and physical ability. The Zen way is open to all who have a sincere desire to try it.

We are bound together by a common commitment to cultivate wisdom and compassion and to live ethical lives. The ultimate aim of the Baguio Zen Center Mountain Sangha is to contribute to steadily realizing true and everlasting peace and harmony among all people through the actual practice of zazen.

Our vow is to offer Zen practice in accord with ancient tradition and respond to the needs of today’s troubled world. We aspire to maintain and share the authentic Dharma of Zen as we experience and understand it. We use traditional koan study and zazen (sitting meditation) in our training, and are always happy to welcome anyone who would like to join us.

We are part of the Sanbo-Zen lineage of Kamakura Japan.
